Outlook Calender
Connect your Outlook Calendar to see your meetings next to your tasks and habits, so you can plan your day around what's already booked instead of guessing what time is left.
Once connected, your Outlook Calendar events appear:
On the Today screen, both in the banner row above your task list and in the calendar column beside it
On the Upcoming screen when you switch to Calendar view
On the Calendar tab on iOS
Events have a distinct colour so you can tell them apart from your Griply items at a glance.
Seeing your events is free. Editing them from inside Griply, responding to invitations, and syncing your Griply tasks out to Outlook are premium.
Why Connect Outlook Calendar to Griply?
By showing your Outlook Calendar events in Griply, you can plan around existing commitments, avoid overbooking, and time-block tasks without missing meetings.
How to Connect Outlook Calendar
Desktop
Open the Settings menu (click your name in the top left).
Click Calendar, under Integrations in the left column.
Click Connect calendar.
Choose Outlook Calendar.
Follow the on-screen permission steps.
On the native Windows or Mac app: reopen the app after granting permissions.
Choose which calendars you want to show in Griply.
iOS
Open the Settings menu.
Tap Calendar.
Tap Add Calendar → Outlook Calendar.
Follow the sign-in and permission steps.
Select which calendars you want to display in Griply.
Choosing Which Calendars Show
A Microsoft account usually holds more than one calendar, and you decide which of them appear in Griply.
In Settings → Calendar, open the account's Visible calendars dropdown to pick which of its calendars appear. Hide the holidays calendar and the team calendar while keeping your primary one, or show all of them.
You can also connect more than one Microsoft account, along with a Google account, and pick calendars from each independently.
Disconnecting Outlook Calendar
Go to Settings → Calendar.
Click the trashcan icon next to the connected calendar.
FAQ
It's taking a while for my events to sync to Griply. What should I do?
Outlook Calendar events sync every 5 minutes. To pull them in straight away, press the refresh button at the top-right of the calendar panel, wherever the calendar is shown.
Can I edit Outlook Calendar events in Griply?
Yes, on a premium plan. You can change an event's time, add guests from your contacts, and create or delete events, and the change is written back to Outlook. See Calendar Events. On a free plan your events are visible but read-only.
Is it a two-way sync?
Yes, on a premium plan. Your Griply tasks, habits, and focus blocks can be blocked out on your Outlook Calendar, and moving or deleting one of those blocks in Outlook updates Griply to match. See Calendar Integration.
Can I connect multiple Outlook accounts to Griply?
Yes, you can connect more than one Microsoft account and choose which calendars to display.
Why is my new Outlook event not showing in Griply?
Make sure the event is created in your Outlook Calendar, not in Microsoft To Do. Only events are synced to Griply.
Some of my calendars are missing.
Check that your missing calendar is visible in your Outlook Calendar settings and that you have permission to view it. For shared calendars, ensure you have at least "Can edit" or equivalent access.
Privacy & Permissions
Griply asks for three things from your Microsoft account:
Read access to your calendars, so your events can appear in Griply.
Write access to your calendars, so you can edit events and sync your Griply tasks out. Griply only creates or changes events you act on in Griply, and events it created itself.
Read access to your contacts, used for one thing: suggesting names when you type in an event's guest field. Griply never stores your contacts and never creates or edits them.
Griply asks for all three when you connect the account. Calendar write and contacts read are only used by the premium features above; on a free plan nothing is written to your calendar.
Tips
Use the calendar column on Today to time-block around the meetings you already have.
Check Today each morning to balance your tasks against your meetings.
If events overlap with Griply tasks, they'll be stacked so you can spot potential conflicts at a glance.
